Cain and Saramago would have to enter into the insights of the Prophets and Wisdom portions of the Bible to gain and present a more honest conversation with God and readers.
His Words to sara,ago Listening Heart. This is not one of those books that I would recommend to everyone because of its subject matter.
Cain is a hero in this story; he runs into God numerous times in his life, and each time, he is reminded how lacking God is in moral judgement. He really was scum, thus Cain, who could suffer his behavior no longer, ended up killing him.

After killing his brother Abel, Cain must wander for ever. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. In short a powerful book, and wonderfully concise, which I consider quite a compliment for Saramago in that some of his books that I’ve actually liked ie, The Gospel According to Jesus Christ or Seeing seem to test my patience at times, though Saramago was good at delivering in these saraago.

It’s the old anti-theodicy issue without any new insights. And the search turns out to be quixotic indeed. Condemned to wander forever after he kills his brother Abel, Cain makes his way through the world in the company of a personable donkey. Refresh and try again. But the story is entirely enjoyable, and difficult to guess what will happen next.
